The real cost of accidents Calculating the real cost of vehicle accidents can be an alarming experience. Aside from the tragic personal consequences, the practical day-to-day costs can soon mount up. Consider the cost of repairing or replacing a vehicle, the increased insurance or risk premiums, the cost of re-appointing and re-training key personnel, the time and money lost in post-collision administration, as well as lost production and lost sales. As a conservative example take a 100-vehicle fleet with on average six accidents per annum. Whilst the average vehicle repair cost is £750, the real cost is more like five times that which equals £2800. Multiply this figure by six, the average number of accidents, then this makes the real cost nearer to £16,800. What is DriveWize Both the training and the risk assessments are supported by our Tracking and Reporting Tool. |
